Boston Summer Intern Housing & Meals

Our summer housing facilities in Boston offers the convenience and comfort necessary for an effortless move this summer. Boston is a charming and beautiful city, and you’ll enjoy the appealing blend of loyal sports fans, high-end sophistication and historic architecture. Please read the sections below for more information on the summer internship housing for each Boston Program.

Housing at Emmerson College

The Boston Summer Internship Programs will be housed at the brand new Colonial Building Residence Hall at Emerson College. The renovated building opened in the fall of 2009, and offers our students suite-style accommodations with in-suite bathrooms, large common lounge areas, and access to full kitchens. The historic Colonial Theatre, located on the street level of the building, is the oldest continuously operating theatre in New England! The residence makes up floors 4-10 of the 10-story building.

 

At Emerson College, you will have full access to:

  • Internet, cable TV, and phone service in your room
  • Fitness Center (may require membership)
  • Sound-proof reheasal space
  • Common full kitchens
  • Laundry facilities & Common Lounges

The Colonial Building is proud to be a modern LEED-certified residence hall: 35 percent of the building's electricity comes from renewable sources and most of the building's finish materials, such as carpet, counter tops, and ceilings include recycled content.


Location

CE Boston’s residence hall, The Colonial Building Residence Hall at Emerson College, is strategically located on the picturesque Boston Commons at 100 Boylston Street! This prime location is both in the heart of downtown Boston, as well as just feet away from tennis courts, baseball fields, and acres of open park to chase footballs and enjoy the wonderful weather!


Security

Entry to the residence hall is restricted to residents and authorized guests only. Guests must present proper photo-identification in the lobby and be escorted by the residents at all time. Emerson security guards are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition, our trained, on-site CE Staff will be available 24/7 to ensure you have all of the up-to-date information you need to maximize your summer experience!

Meals

The Emerson dining facilities offer meal choices to fit every taste! Breakfast and dinner is included in the tuition, and our students are consistently surprised with the delicious array of various cuisines! Chefs line the dining facilities and happily prepare your dish for you as you wait – everything from hearty meals to healthy options. In case you want to venture outside Emerson for a meal – the dorm is conveniently attached to City Plaza, where you can indulge in California Pizza Kitchen, PF Changs, and much, much more. Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts also are attached to the campus in case you need a coffee to drive your day!

Transportation

Our Boston participants will receive a subway card to get to and from work each day, as well as transportation throughout the 4 weeks of the program for activities sponsored by Career Explorations.

24/7 Onsite Staff Assistance

Your Personal CE Advisor will live in the dorm and support you in your internship and all other aspects of your summer experience. The CE staff is dedicated to delivering a high-quality experience to enable both your professional and personal growth. Staff members will serve as your program guides, leading you to program events and providing you all of the up-to-date informaiton you need to maximize your summer experience! They will be available at all times to ensure your summer in the city is as safe as possible.
